When Heaven Invades Earth
Week 1 – February 10 – February 16, 2008
Chapters 1-3 : pgs. 25-42
Topics – What is the “normal” Christian Life; Jesus, the man and
our Charge
- “The lack of
miracles isn't because it is God's will for us. The problem
exists
between our ears” (When Heaven 27).
What miracles do you desire to see God
perform through you? What do you think is your biggest obstacle to
seeing these manifest? (Journal, 8)
- “If I truly
receive power from ... the God of power, I am equipped to give
it away. The infusion of God into impossible situations comes
through a people who have received power from on high and
learn to release it into the circumstances of life” (When,
33). Have you received power from an encounter with God? Is
this power specialized in any specific area? How can you expand
it? (J, 15).
- The surrendered
heart that results from repentance is crucial in developing the
renewal of mind necessary to see the Kingdom focus of Jesus. How
does faith make repentance possible? Why is the heart involved
in order to renew the mind? How can other people help you
identify hidden sin? Who are they in your life?
- How does the
awareness of God’s Kingdom “at hand,” present in our world help
us to be co-laborers with Christ? Do you think of yourself as
one who destroys the works of the devil? Why or why not? (J, 23)
- Just as Jesus
worked only through the Spirit of God, we need to do likewise as
His agents. Evaluate your dependence upon the Spirit and share
how you operate as His agent in your daily life What would it
look like to grow in this area? (J, 23)
- The collision
between the world of darkness and the world of light will have
repercussions for those who experience it. What was your world
of darkness like? What happened when light invaded it? Who needs
to hear your testimony? (J, 23)
